And….increasing early childhood education is, according to the best research out there, somewhere between having a negative effect on intelligence and creativity and having a positive effect on school grades (school encourages neither creativity nor intelligence). I have a 5 year-old and a 4 year-old. They are totally unschooled…but they are both reading (the 5 year-old reads at a 3rd or 4th grade level, at least) and are at least 2 years above their age level at all the school stuff except waiting in line and waiting to be called on to speak. Take a look at where the most effective education, by far, in this country is happening. That would be at home, usually with non-union, non-certified “teachers”. Your myths are largely irrelevant to children learning.
